Start at the official source
Use the ArtCraft product page to identify the project, then follow its links to the storytold/photocraft repository and releases. Similar names appear in app stores and on other websites; a matching name alone does not establish that an app belongs to this project.
At our October 11, 2026, 09:08 UTC check, GitHub marked v0.7.0 as Latest. The official product page labels PhotoCraft early alpha. Read current release notes before choosing a build; a release label does not certify a workflow.
Choose a build for your computer
The official project lists Windows, macOS, and Linux support. Open the release assets and choose the package matching both your operating system and processor architecture. An installer, portable archive, and source archive are different things; do not assume every asset is ready to launch.
For PhotoCraft alone, use its own release page. The official Crafting Apps directory also offers ArtCraft Launcher for installing and updating multiple apps. The launcher is a separate project with its own releases; do not confuse its version with the PhotoCraft version. Read the release instructions, security notices, and known issues. Keep your normal operating-system protections enabled. If a package is blocked or fails to open, consult the project instructions rather than bypassing warnings blindly.
Make your first session reversible
Copy a small image into a separate working folder. Open that copy, make one change, and export to a new filename. Reopen the export and confirm its size, color appearance, and transparency in another viewer.
For layered documents, retain the original and work on a duplicate. Check whether layers, masks, text, and effects remain editable after saving and reopening. A document that looks correct can still have flattened or changed structure.
Evaluate the workflow you actually need
Try a short sequence from your own work: crop and resize a photo, adjust color, combine two layers, add or edit a mask, and export. Record the version and any failure so you can reproduce it.
The project describes offline editing. That does not mean downloading packages, fetching updates, or opening external resources requires no connection. If offline use matters, test your chosen build with a copied local file and the network disconnected.
Get help with useful evidence
Search existing GitHub issues before opening a new report. Include the operating system, architecture, app version, steps to reproduce, expected result, and actual result. Share a minimal sample only if you have the right to distribute it.
This page is a source-based starting guide. We have not installed or benchmarked PhotoCraft, so it does not certify a build, platform, or workflow.
