ArtCraft apps: PhotoCraft, LightCraft, VectorCraft & FilmCraft

PhotoCraft is one of the Crafting Apps from the ArtCraft team. Choose by the document you need to create or edit: a layered image, a RAW photograph, vector artwork or a video timeline. This source-based guide explains the roles and download paths; it is not a hands-on review.

PhotoCraft: layered image editing

Start with PhotoCraft when your task is retouching or combining images with layers and masks. Its official page describes adjustment layers, layer styles, type, vectors and brushes, and labels the app early alpha.

For Photoshop migration, inspect editable structure as well as appearance. A successful PSD import does not prove that text, effects and masks will survive editing and saving. Use our related PSD compatibility guide for a round-trip checklist.

LightCraft: photo libraries and RAW development

LightCraft is described by its official page as a photo library and non-destructive RAW developer. That makes it a candidate for organizing and developing photographs; PhotoCraft serves the separate task of layered image editing.

A workflow to evaluate is RAW development in LightCraft followed by compositing in PhotoCraft. First confirm a shared export/import format in the installed versions, then check dimensions, color appearance, bit depth and metadata on a copied image. We have not verified this handoff.

Moving from Lightroom requires more than opening a RAW file. Test your camera files and check whether ratings, keywords, collections, sidecars and editing history can be retained. Keep the original catalog and RAW files; this guide does not establish Lightroom catalog compatibility.

VectorCraft: vector illustration

The official VectorCraft page describes vector illustration and lists desktop and web platforms. The official page now offers downloads at our October 11 source check. For a logo or scalable drawing, evaluate its vector tools rather than assuming a photo editor meets the same need.

Before exchanging SVG or PDF artwork, verify the actual import and export options in your build. Test text, fonts, clipping, strokes and gradients with a small file. A product description is not evidence of lossless Illustrator, SVG or PDF round trips.

FilmCraft: a video timeline

FilmCraft is presented as a video editor with source and program monitors, a timeline and trim modes. The official page now offers downloadable builds, while the repository describes the app as alpha. It handles a different task from preparing a still image in PhotoCraft.

For a proposed still-image-to-video workflow, test one image and a short clip before a full edit. Check accepted formats, dimensions, transparency, frame rate, audio and the exported file. Our separate FilmCraft review documents one limited CLI still-image export; we have not tested this proposed workflow in the GUI or Premiere project migration. Keep the source project and media.

The other apps in the directory

The official directory also lists PdfCraft, EffectCraft and DesignCraft alongside its PDF, motion-graphics and page-layout categories. Follow the individual product pages from that directory for current scope and availability.

A shared suite name does not establish shared project formats, plug-ins, identical platform support or production readiness. Choose one necessary task and verify it before expanding your toolchain.

Download one app or use ArtCraft Launcher

The official Crafting Apps directory recommends ArtCraft Launcher to install and update the apps, and says individual installers are available on each app page. Use that directory or the launcher repository linked below for current platform choices. For PhotoCraft alone, our download hub links directly to its official releases.

Launcher versions and app versions are separate. Check the app name, release notes, operating system and CPU architecture before downloading. A source archive is for source code, not automatically an installable application. GetPhotoCraft is an independent guide site and does not host either the launcher or the editor.

What to check before replacing an existing tool

Record the app version, platform and sample file, then run the smallest useful task: open, edit, save, close, reopen and export. Compare the output in the tool that will receive it. Keep working originals and note failures or partial support.

We reviewed official descriptions on October 11, 2026. This selection guide remains source-based. The separate FilmCraft review records a bounded CLI export test; no suite-wide GUI, performance or migration test has been completed. The app roles above help you choose what to evaluate, not infer full workflow parity.
